This policy explains what information booknbook.ai collects, why, and how it is used and protected. booknbook.ai is operated by booknbook Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 10966006, VAT No. 388784225), registered office 48 Warwick St, Soho, London, W1B 5AW, United Kingdom.
When you run the free checkup or otherwise use booknbook.ai, we collect the information you submit, including:
To generate your checkup, we look up publicly available information about the business you told us about - for example your Google Business Profile listing details, publicly visible reviews, your website’s own public pages and structured data, and publicly visible social media profile information. We also compare this against a small number of similar local businesses (“competitors”) using the same kind of public information, purely to give you a benchmark.
From your profile, you can optionally connect your own Google account to unlock real (not estimated) performance data in your checkup. If you do, we ask Google for permission to access, read-only wherever possible:
We only ever request data for properties and listings your own connected Google account already has access to - we never see or request access to anyone else’s Google data. We store the minimum needed to keep this connection working (a refresh token, not your Google password), and use the data solely to show it back to you inside your own checkup reports. You can disconnect at any time from your profile, which stops any further access.
booknbook.ai’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, we never use Google user data for advertising, never use it to train or improve any general-purpose AI/ML model, never use it for creditworthiness or lending decisions, and never sell or transfer it to data brokers. Where our AI-generated recommendations reference your own connected Google data, that is done only to write the wording of your own checkup report - the underlying numbers and any text generated from them are shown back to you and are not retained by or used to train the third-party AI model involved (see “Who we share information with” below).
Separately, you can connect a Facebook Page you administer to unlock real follower and engagement data. If you do, we store your Page’s ID, name and access token, and the linked Instagram Business account if any, and use them only to read follower counts, recent posts and engagement metrics for that Page - again, only for pages your own account already administers. You can disconnect or switch Pages at any time from your profile.
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies: one to keep you signed in to your profile, and short-lived ones used only during the Google/Facebook connection process to protect against cross-site request forgery. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We use the information above to: generate and improve your checkup report and recommendations; let you sign in and revisit your reports; send you the report and, if you ask for one, a quote for paid services; and to detect and fix technical problems with the service.
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run booknbook.ai, each acting on our instructions:
We keep your checkup reports and account information for as long as your account is active, so you can revisit past reports and re-run future checkups without starting over. You can ask us to delete your information at any time - see “Your rights” below.
If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To exercise any of these rights, or to disconnect a Google or Facebook connection and have the associated tokens deleted, contact us at marketing@booknbook.com.
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access-controlled databases, and hashed/tokenised credentials rather than stored passwords) to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
booknbook.ai is a business tool intended for business owners and operators. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, children.
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
